Abakam

Example of  successful rural development

Starting with a crusade in the late 1980's, CRAN first built a Kindergarten, later a Junior Secondary School. Last year the first classes finished J.S.S. - successfully without exception, two of them - Daniel Kponorvi and George Atinyo - visiting famous colleges (more). This convinced the people of Abakam to send their children to school. And the Christian spirit driving this development has convinced almost all people to leave their traditional religion behind and turn to Christianity. As George's mother puts it: "Christ has won."

Duakor

Women ressource center with hostel

Young women learn dressmaking, batik and hairdressing. Some of the girls did not finish school before, some cannot read and write. Some come from far away.

Shama Kedzi

Education and Microcredit

Education: The J.S.S with pupils and highly motivated teachers. Because of the poor infrastructure in Shama Kedzi it's difficult to get more teachers. CRAN thinks of a hostel for teachers.

Microcredit: Accountant with a client. Since electricity has not yet reached Shama Kedzi office work has to be done without computers and in the evening without electric light. Mosquitos feel well.
